So my copy of the first one, The Moosewood Cookbook, is in tatters for those of you who do not know what to get me for Christmas. This cook book is so, so good. It is not necessarily sugar free, but the ingredients are all actual food and not lab grown junk. My favorites are the marinated mushrooms (I'm known for them, far and wide), the salsas are crazy good, as are the soups. This was my first brush with whole food living and is does not disappoint. I Quit Sugar basically got me healthy when I was trying to have a baby. This is a beautiful collection of recipes for all things from sauces to refreshing drinks to savory galletts and delish desserts. Sarah teaches the reader how to make all of the above without using any refined sugars or any other garbage...very good stuff. Plenty was given to me by my lovely sister-in- law, Yun-Ho...and this cook book doubles as reading for enjoyment, eye candy. It is rich with beautiful photography of just the most marvelous dishes. My faves are crusted pumpkin wedges with sour cream and leek fritters. I mean, seriously, come on.
I will link to these once I learn how...you think I'm kidding.
